Why is Obama changing his mind on the bailout?

First he said his plan was similar then the next day his campaign had to explain what he really meant when he said that? I am sure everyone heard his reasons for voting for it. He said, %26quot;the rescue plan may work then again it may not work. It may help our economy then again it may not help the economy.%26quot; The more I hear this guy the happier I am that I changed my mind on him.

Why is Obama changing his mind on the bailout?
kind of like how McCain changed positions on the bailout of one of those banks last week
Why is Obama changing his mind on the bailout?
HE IS A FOOL !!
because one day he likes dogs more than any other animal, but the next day his favorite animals a cat. one hour he thinks meat is gross and the next hour he would kill for a steak. that's how he is and thats the only thing that aint gonna change about him. that is why yall ought to vote McCain 08
He's looking for wiggle room so he can say,,,,i told you so
who knows how the mind of this man works. i do not believe he is evil, unlikable, ugly, stupid, insincere. i do believe his ideas show an apalling lack of knowledge and experience. i do believe he licks his finger and sticks itin the air for votes. i do believe he is incompetant. i do believe he is a racist. and i do believe he is big trouble if this country elects him. he is not a leader, he is an empty suit.
Democrats say anything that's needed to get elected, then do what they have always done.

The Congress should be a warning to all how its going to be if they are allowed to run amuck

Why did Obama change his mind about having civilian trials for the terrorists?

Now he say military tribunals are the way to go?

Wasn't that Bush's idea?

When Obama was talking about %26quot;change%26quot;

did he really mean changing his mind about everything?
Why did Obama change his mind about having civilian trials for the terrorists?
Obama has no business being in the oval office in the 1st place

He has no clue about what he is doing
Why did Obama change his mind about having civilian trials for the terrorists?
This guy is totally clueless, when will the democrats put forward someone who actually knows anything?
Obama has never led anything in his life. He has no idea what he's doing and he's gone off half-c*cked attempting ill-advised things. I hope we can survive four years of him.

(Half-c*cked is not a bad word. lol)
Obama will throw his wife and kids under the bus if it takes that to pass his legacy project, OBAMA CARE
The city did not want it. Nice to see Obama respecting the city instead of being the decider.
He needs to establish a precedent for trying domestic terrorists by military tribunal for expediency.
Because we have never given enemy combatants the right to Civilian Trials in the past.

We should not establish a precedent that says that enemy combatants are entitled to Civilian Trials.
So he can focus on jobs right? lol!
The Obama Administration caved into all the propaganda from the Conservatives that have been using this issue to bash President Obama. Conservatives were even planning to cut off the funds for the trials. Conservatives assume that the Bush administration had terrorist trials in military tribunals but that is false.

Is there going to be a lot of mind changing in the new government?

Is there going to be a lot of mind changing in the new government?
I think with this coalition government we are going to see at first a lot of the stick and the carrot.

In other words if you don't do as I say, I'll do this to you, and we saw a good example of that for the first time on Question Time last night, you don't change your views on Gay Adoption just like that unless you've been told to do so by the boss if you want to have and play a leading role in government.

So who do they think they are kidding because I for one have no Pin needles off a Christmas Tree stuck in my backside (thank-you very much).
Is there going to be a lot of mind changing in the new government?
I think that there will be a lot of scapegoating.

Big time, they have already backtracked in the increase in NI contributions but only for employees .... no increase for employers.

Cut in Corporation Tax.

Cuts in the welfare system.

Not bad for the first week eh?

I watched 'Question Time' last night and it was surreal, nothing like the Tories at all ... the whole thing is a Lib 'Con' trick.
Technically you cant change what you haven't got but there will be a lot of ducking and conniving, sorry diving, to keep the 'other half' happy.
And a lot of soul searching, Vince Cable does not look a happy man!

What happens if you verbally agree to amend a written contract with someone, but then change your mind?

Do you still have to go along with the amendmant?

I am not totally changing my mind, but I might want to change my mind on some of the conditions and make them slightly different. This would cause some additional financial expense to the person I have the contract with.

So what happens now? Do I HAVE to go along with the amendmant to the written contract because I may have verbally agreed to do so?

Or can I change my mind?
What happens if you verbally agree to amend a written contract with someone, but then change your mind?
Is there money paid on this contract? If not, there is NO contract. Have you signed the amendment? If not, there is no amendment. IT sounds as if you are haggling over the formation of a contract...until all is signed and MONEY is put down by the terms of the contract, you have NO contract at all. That is simple contract law, in all states.
What happens if you verbally agree to amend a written contract with someone, but then change your mind?
The written contract takes precedence and trumps any verbal agreements, either before or after. This rule in law was adopted to make commerce a smoother and clearer enterprise.

Unless and until the written contract is changed in writing, no amendments will overrule it.
no. The written terms take precedence over oral terms.
depending on the state an oral contract is just as binding as a written one. Of course it is harder to prove the conditions of an oral contract unless there are witnesses.
Your answer is almost certainly in the written contract. It should have a clause which states something to the effect that: all modifications must be in writing and signed by both parties. If it doesn't, then your situation will be determined by the law of the State in which you are located, and since you didn't say where the contract is signed/enforceable, then I can't help you further.
Simply put: if it ain't written it never happened.
Sam Goldwyn the film maker of MGM fame, once said, %26quot;An oral contract is not worth the paper its printed on.%26quot; You have a written contract and in all likelihood that will control. This is a matter of trust. If you agreed to amend the contract and there is no proof and you want out of the changes, that is about all you have to do, as all they have to do. That still leaves the written contract that controls. Is the oral change binding, yes, if it does not involve the sales of goods over $400 or deals with sales of land. If you just changed your mind and your word is worthless, you can get out of all the changes. You are scum if you do, but you can. Picking and choosing is not an option unless they agree, but they better put it in writing because you can't be trusted.
The written contract will always be stronger than a verbal one.
Well, it isn't signed yet. I'd tell that person ASAP so they can figure out what to do now that you are going to want to amend the contract in a way differently than you agreed. Just say something like, %26quot;After we talked, I got to thinking about what we'd agreed to and realized ....%26quot; There's really nothing they can do contractually or legally to force you to sign the amendment as it was decided verbally. They may want to be reimbursed for the lawyer fees as a result of writing up the amendment and then changing it. I'd pay the lawyer if I were you.

If you live in a small town or if this is business related, I'd think twice about changing your mind. One, if you live in a small town, this would get around and people would be leery of doing business with you. Two, if you are doing business with this person and you are providing a service for them, then you could get talked about in the close circle related to your business. Basically, your word would be worthless and no one would want to do business with you.

Good luck!!
It depends.

Does the contract have an entire contract clause meaning that only what's contained in the contract can be used as evidence in court? If so, even if you did agree then any oral evidence would be inadmissable and irrelevant until it is in writing.

Is the contract one that must be in writing; for instance sale of goods over a certain amount (depends on your state), marriage, property etc? If so, an oral agreement will have no effect until it is in writing.

If it does not fall into one of the above categories then it may be binding - it depends on whether it was initial negotiations or whether it was a full agreement (including an offer, acceptance, discussion of terms and conditions and exchange of consideration).

Finally even if you did agree to something verbally, it would be extremely hard for the other person to prove, particularly if there is already a written contract which is contrary.

I would recommend talking to the other party and agreeing on new terms and conditions if they are ammenable. If it is a huge deal or you're unsure, it would be best to seek legal advice however with a lawyer who is familiar with the laws in your jurisdiction.
- ALWAYS have a clause that the written contract can only be changed in writing

- verbal agreements are harder to enforce, it depends on the state, %26amp; it's kind of a he said/she said thing

- bottom line, in the future, have the clause above, and then never agree to anything until you're ready to commit to it, then put it in writing

contracts are no place for carelessness
consult a lawyer and be safe !

  • Is his mind changing?

okay, so i was really retarted and asked a guy out last year when i had never talked to him before. he said no, nicely, but he avoided me at all costs... up until yesterday at band camp. he started talking to ME. i didn't even say a word to him, like normal. then, later that day he walked past me and looked at me like he always does but this time i smiled at him. he looked away, like always, realized what i did, looked back at me and smiled and said hey. then, today, i did that again, across a room, and looked away fast, but i looked back and he was looking down at what he was doing (Drumming) and smiling really big. we were also walking next to each other to get popsicals and we talked for a little.

does this mean he's changing his mind?? or is he just a nice guy?

what should i do? how do i approach this? i still like him, of course, but im not asking him out again, it could ruin the little we have. how do i go about flirting with a guy that used to hate me? should i? thanks
    Is his mind changing?
i think hes changing his mind. :)
    Is his mind changing?
Guys are difficult to comprehend just like girls are...One minute they like you, then the next minute they hate you...It's hard to say...If he told you nicely no, then I don't think he is a bad guy. But if totally ignored you and now all of a sudden wants you, that's kinda shady don't you think....At all means, I don't think you should ask him out....It's his turn to do that, and the ball is in your court so you can say yes or no....Maybe give him what he deserves...play hard to get.. ;)
b friends 1st and dont even think about it the more he gets 2 know u the more he'll think about it
I don't think that it has to do anything with him changing his mind. He is probably shy. If you asked him out of blue and he did not know you very well, it'd weird him out at first. If I were you, I'd not flirt. Take things slow and talk to him as a friend. Wait and see if he cares for you as much as you do for him. You did the right thing by smiling at him. Frankly, most of guys I know told me that they would feel more comfortable if they get to know girls better before anything happens.

Catholic Church: Changed mind on Galilleo, and Evolution. You think (eventually) it will about gays?

My father remembered the Catholic Church saying that you could not be saved outside of the Church. Now, the Catholic Church recognizes that Protestants who accept Jesus are saved. That's a big turnaround. Jews used to be condemned by the Chruch. Now the Church never says anything against them.
Catholic Church: Changed mind on Galilleo, and Evolution. You think (eventually) it will about gays?
Oh, definitely. I used to think otherwise, but after looking into Catholic doctrine, I was astounded by all the ethical changes made in the past. Evolution is accepted, as are other religions, the Big Bang theory, and I can see accepting homosexuals happening in the next ten years or so.

Now, if only the other sects of Christianity would do the same. You know which ones I'm talking about.
Catholic Church: Changed mind on Galilleo, and Evolution. You think (eventually) it will about gays?
Religion must either adapt or die. Catholicism is no exception.
Yes, just like society and their turnarounds... or something
As the worlds largest cult, yes, I believe the Catholic religion will eventually accept gays.
I doubt it, not anytime soon ... they sort of came to a compromise by saying %26quot;well, there's nothing wrong with homosexuality -- you just can't act on it%26quot;. Maybe they will eventually be totally ok with homosexuality but by that point in time nobody will care what they think anyways.
It only took them about 400 years to accept galileo's teaching that the earth revolved around the sun. Yes, I suspect that within 400 years they will stop condemning non-priest homosexuals as well.
They will continue to make up stuff as they go along. If there is a financial advantage in recognising gays, then they will.
Only after they're presented with overwhelming evidence that gay people are here to stay, are perfectly natural, and that the general public will no longer tolerate their intolerance.
It took them 100 years just to let Galileo's works be published (still censored), 200 hundred years to accept heliocentrism and about 350 years to acknowledge that the tribunal Galileo faced made errors. The church made no official statements on the Theory of Evolution, so it had no egg on its face when it decided to accept it (albeit theistic evolution). It's been pretty condeming of homosexuality, so expect later rather than sooner.
    Of course, eventually.
Nope No Way. The good Shepard Hermus took care of that! Not ever been a Pope go against him.
If a religion is going to survive it has to bend to the times. Homosexuality is so accepted now (at least where I live) that churches that reject it will wither and die with their members.
    Of course.

When the Church are finally forced to start treating gays as human beings, they will just say it was their idea all along.
I think the church hierarchy will only agree to this so long as they continue to get first pick on talented gay men and lesbians, when they're recruiting Catholic kids for the clergy.

At least so long as there's a ban on clerical marriage, I think the Church will need to recruit heavily among gay men and lesbians to serve as priests, monks and nuns. Most heterosexual people just don't accept the idea of celibacy for life, or even a religious discipline that forces you to pretend to be celibate when you aren't.

But if secular society becomes tolerant of gay people, won't that interfere with recruitment to the clergy?

In addition, as someone who at one time read through the Bible pretty carefully, I think the Church and the Protestant denominations will have a hard time getting past the violently anti-gay sentiments in Genesis, Leviticus %26amp; Deuteronomy.

Of course, the Church and most Protestant denominations have found plausible ways to ignore much of what Jesus is supposed to have said in the Gospels about rejecting war %26amp; condemning rich people for putting money-making in place of their obligations to the poor.

So like most of us, the Church usually can find a way to interpret scripture to serve its own interests. And if it can ignore Jesus on the futility and folly of war, it can probably come to be more flexible on homosexuality. We'll just have to see.

As an agnostic, I do think it would be great if the different Christian denominations came to agree with the Gospel of John about God being a God of love, and if they decided to apply this doctrine across sexual %26amp; gender lines.
The Catholic Church already accepts homosexuals.

Created in the image of the one God and equally endowed with rational souls, all men have the same nature and the same origin. Redeemed by the sacrifice of Christ, all are called to participate in the same divine beatitude: all therefore enjoy an equal dignity.

The Catholic Church believes there is nothing sinful about being homosexual. But all unmarried people (homosexual, bisexual, and heterosexual) are called to celibacy.

    The Church specifically says that homosexuals %26quot;must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided.%26quot;

    With love in Christ.
The Catholic Church used to believe that homosexuality was caused by demonic influences (see Romans 1:26) now it teaches that its a psychological disorder. That's a pretty significant change.

Of course this is one of the many reasons traditionalists reject the modern antipopes.

Can a perfect and all knowing being change his mind?

If God knows all and is perfect-can he actually change his mind as a result of a person's prayer? Changing your mind is not something you do when you know that your plan is flawless. So why would God change his mind at our request? Didn't the Bible say not to test God-as this would make him serve us? Omniscience, Omnipotence and Perfection are all possible together-but would a being who possessed all three-as God is said to possess-have any reason to change his mind?

Was the plan perfect if you feel the need to change it?
Can a perfect and all knowing being change his mind?
    Yes he can.

One example of where he changed his mind is at Genesis 18:20-33

This was a discussion between Abraham %26amp; Jehovah.

This account shows that Jehovah is reasonable %26amp; has humility too.

If you came to know his qualities you would realise this.

Not only is Jehovah willing to listen to his intelligent creatures but he is also willing to yield when there is no conflict with righteous principles. He is also adaptable

(btw - He did make the earth %26amp; mankind perfect. It is only through what Adam did that we are now suffering the bad consequences. The answers are all there in your bible)
Can a perfect and all knowing being change his mind?
He also knows the limits of what one can handle at any given time.
Its like a labyrinth, you can turn right or left to seek the right path or the right choice (exit).

But still GOD knows it from the entry point to the exit point for HE alone created it !
think of things in levels ...

on a world / macro level, God has a master plan. No alteration. John the apostle has been given revelation to record the future to the end.

on an individual / micro level, plans can definitely be altered. we can change our destiny from good to bad or vice versa.

a sinner bound for hell ... accepts Christ, repents, turns over a new leaf ... won't the sun shine in his life, you think. Of course, it would.

does this prove that God change His mind? No. This is not about God changing His mind. It is rather about God giving people second-chances to get to heaven.
You are a bit confuse about DESTINY a guess, God can change if you also decide to change (why are given free will?). Regards to answering request, God knows what is best for you. He can fulfill your request of withhold it for your own good or in order to test your faith towards HIM.
that's impossible since the perfect and all knowing being has created his perfect mind and perfect existence

the only thing that forgot to make perfect it his GOD DAMN world

but a perfect world would be boring , right ?

so it was a perfect decision not to make a perfect world
